IT'S ON
I was there at Bingin a few days ago. Those French kids with the helmets are a menace. Hogging waves and yelling at people, all tolerated and encouraged by their entourage of parents. I was there with my son, 14yo and quite a good surfer. If he did anything like that I’d pull him aside and get him to sit on the shoulder for awhile after each wave, not head straight to the head of the line up and also let a few others get some waves every now and then. Definitely no yelling or carrying on like a pork chop or he’d be out of the water
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's really important to teach surfing etiquette from a young age, especially in crowded spots like Bingin with surfers from all over. What you're doing with your son is a great example, and hopefully more parents will do the same. I hope your future surfing experiences are more enjoyable and filled with good waves.
